mod_http3 v0.0.74 has been added to the CodeIT repository. The packages are built for RHEL, CentOS, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux and Oracle Linux 7, 8, 9 and 10, and for Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04.
Major changes:
- Linux: with ListenCoresBucketsRatio, connection migration works. Byte 0 of each server connection ID holds the bucket number, and an SK_REUSEPORT eBPF program sends each packet to the socket of that bucket. The server no longer sends disable_active_migration. If the program cannot load (kernel before 4.19, no CAP_BPF, SELinux, seccomp), a warning gives the reason and 0.0.73 behaviour stays.
- Less memory per connection. The QUIC connection keeps its connection IDs in 16 slots of its own, not in an APR pool (8 KB at least), and makes the CONNECTION_CLOSE buffer only when it closes. The session and stream allocators keep at most MaxMemFree, as in mod_http2, so an idle connection gives back its peak memory.
- A client can no longer put an Initial DCID that is a CID of another connection into the CID map. Before, the map could keep a key that pointed into the pool of a freed connection.
